Monday, November 02, 2015, 11:00 amEFFECTIVE TUESDAY – NOVEMBER 3 - ALL FIRE RELATED TRAIL AND AREA CLOSURES WILL BE LIFTED Note: The annual lower North Fork Sun River hunting season camping closure remains in effect as in past years. Weather and fire conditions can and will change daily. The Forest experienced a new fire start in the Lubec Hills on the north end of the Rocky Mountain Ranger District this past Friday. Although it was raining/snowing at the time the ground under the tree canopy is still extremely dry and had no trouble carrying fire. Visitors are reminded that with significant warming and drying any of the fires could become active again in the afternoons. Everyone should observe caution and be alert for the following hazards in recently burned areas:Falling trees and snags, particularly in windy or wet conditions.Rolling rocks or logs from above when traveling below an area that has burned.Occasional smoke or open flame, especially in grass if drying occurs. ...
